Sat 7 Nov 10:44
At break during the convention, I have time to write. Gerrie and I arrived just past 8:30, after we wandered a little in South Philadelphia. I may be paying $29 for parking because the discount of $15 is only for valet parking.
Sun 8 Nov 13:40
American Top 40 ran Saturday, 8 November 1975 this morning. I managed to salvage the first two hours by running a tape after I'd left and then rerecording it with the commercials spliced out. I shall do it again the next two Saturdays.
My harrowing misadventure in Center City still bugs me. We became lost both coming and going. I put more distance on the van yesterday than I usually put in two weeks, around 110 km. I didn't get home until 6:20 after twice missing the turn onto 95 North. We also had a time looking for the van, in addition to paying the outrageous parking fee of $29 at the Westin Hotel. We both spent $20 to net $40 yesterday.
Tue 10 Nov 15:08
I went to bed early last night, and I awoke about 5:20, early enough to bathe before I left this morning. I must shift my bath night this week because Toastmasters had a gap of three weeks. I must have Thursday off to visit and for Toastmasters.
Tonight begins the formal training for Block. I've already taken the bank agency training, so I can dump the fourth session a week Friday.
Wed 11 Nov 15:26
Last night's training at Block reveals that I need another certificate to avoid the fourth session -- electronic signatures. The reason we had to pay $29 for parking was that Westin Hotel controls only the valet parking. I should have realized it when we had to cross a court of shops to get to the hotel.
My sister called me last night, actually just as I was leaving work to tell me that Medicaid might claim that the house belongs totally to the living trust and Mom.
Afterwards, it hit me that I've paid extra to the principal many times since the trust began, and I took the mortgage interest and the property taxes off my taxes every year since 1995. Furthermore, the quitclaim required a consideration of $10 which I never received. If there had been a new title I never saw it nor signed it.
I think it's time I enlisted some aid. The state legislator appears to be the place to start. The situation had spiraled out of control.
Thu 12 Nov 15:18
My sister objected to the tactic of exploiting the loophole I found in the quitclaim. There was simply no exchange of consideration nor any completion of a contract.
At this time of stress, I must change over to my plans for the next twenty years. I am making a list tomorrow. Meanwhile, the mortgage company has been calling me about the title of the house.
Fri 13 Nov 18:42
It's been a gloomy Friday the Thirteenth. The office of my state legislator could only refer me elsewhere. Apparently I will need a lawyer.
Then I noticed that a certified letter was still waiting at the post office, addressed to both of us. It was a letter threating to stop the insurance on the house. Eventually I called the company and straightened them out. After the post office, I looked for the Bristol office. I had quite a time getting into the shopping center.
Sun 15 Nov 20:55
It was another day of stress as the ideas ran back and forth on the house. My sister may have hit on a solution. After speaking with someone last night, I doubt whether I ever want to rent out the room.
Tue 17 Nov 22:05
Whew! After a week of the prospect of losing the house, Mom's lawyers came up with a proposal to transfer the title with the $120,000 I can raise. It was a week of stress, and I lost a few kilograms from 106 to 104.
So using the assessed value less the realtor, the fair value falls just below $120,000. They will still receive around $80,000 out of this. I intend to take advantage of every incentive to get through this mess.
Then the real work begins as I try to get more income in here. Obviously, my lack of knowledge has been the culprit. I am too good at impractical knowledge.
Wed 18 Nov
After some contemplation, I've decided to amend the past three returns to drop off the itemization and take the standard deduction. If anything, this whole erroneous affair demands immediate attention. The financial planner never mentioned anything about gifting and transfer of title.
Thu 19 Nov 15:22
Initial rehersal of the tax returns proved worse than I had thought. The total I had in mind does not include 2006. It's going to cost about a capped tooth to fix. I simply need more income.
Sun 22 Nov 21:54
This weekend has been worse. The agents of Medicaid rejected the proposition. The lawyers think they'll accept $148,000, but the payments will run about $725/month! Fortunately, the tax credit of $8000 extends to 30 April.
I finished the ugly task of paying back the difference between itemized and standard deductions the past three years. At least I'm squared with the error in taxes at $803! It's all I can correct.
I haven't been able to concetrate much this weekend. The second session of states' returns concernec Delaware. I found it hard to stay awake after a troubled night. Hopefully this week will turn it around.
Success is a numbers game, and I've already jumped back into the search for more income. I must make it routine.
American Top 40 was Saturday, 28 November 1970. Despite the problems, my time in Eighth Grade was really one of intense mental activity.
Tue 24 Nov 15:02
After some figuring, I've concluded I simply cannot afford the van. The shortfall is just too much to tolerate. I don't want to take any more out of my 401(k). I should have figured this problem would crop up, even with the relatively low cost. I feel as stressed out as I was in 1986 or even 1989.
Wed 25 Nov 7:07
I awoke before 5 AM to ponder all the decent over the past two years. My sister has signaled that $148,000 is acceptable. Therefore I will spring the proposal this weekend.

Sun 25 Oct 15:33
The Comcast techinician showed up while I was napping on my bed. It took him fifteen minutes to fix the computer and hook it up to the network. However, I had no forewarning that they were coming today. Hopefully, we're all set for another few years. The next time my computer freezes up, I am waiting five seconds until I turn it back on.
Mon 26 Oct 15:33
My computer froze this morning while I was watching a video on YouTube. The suggest solution form Windows didn't help the problem. Could Norton 2009 be imcompatable with the system, or Webroot?
I went on Amazon last night, and I posted reviews for "Conspiracy of the Rich" and "The Meaning of Matthew'. Meanwhile, the Matthew Shepard Hate Crime Prevention Act remains unsigned. It could go into law simply by sitting on the executive deak until the end of the week.
Wed 28 Oct 8:12
I was thinking about various aspects of my life, what they meant, and how to direct them now, when I saw a parallel to when I rediscovered history. I have all the facts, now I must analyze them.
14:31-46
I received a call from Frank R in that I did not complete my application. I vaguely remember that the application would not take my electronic signature. So I never sent the document in, similarly to the President's delay in signing the Defense Act of 2010, which includes the Matthew Shepard Act. (signed that day) We're faring as well with the Pulbic Option on Health Insurace.
Fri 30 Oct 14:47
I remember on this date in 1970 that for Halloween, I went to school as a drunk. I even recorded it on my reel-to-reel tape. I was on my route while delivering newspapers when I spied the two nearly empty Gibbons cans. I washed them out to use them as props, and I put on the string tie I had since the bar, which showed various cocktails surrounding the words "Happy New Year". I wonder where that tie could be now, for I never threw it out.
There was yet another video of Judy Shepard after the ceremonies of the signing of the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. There she announces that when the Shepards wanted to donate Matt's organs, the hospital (Poudre Valley in Fort Collins CO) informed them that Matt had tested HIV+. How would have Matt handled it? He was already suffering from depression, anxiety, and bulimia.
Then I read about Sean William Kennedy's fatal encounter. Apparently he was underage and legally drunk when his killer punched him mortally. Is it determinism, or simply bad choices that lead to tragedy?
Meanwhile, I am looking at the last free Saturday I'll have for a month. My decisions will have less time as we appraoch tax season, now merely two months away.
Sun 1 Nov 11:40
Standard time arrived overnight. I was up at the same time this morning, so I am not yet switched to the time. I was looking up the Hardy Boys off Disney when I encountered both Tommy Kirk and Tim Considine who played the roles.
Tommy Kirk apparently lost his job, not only because he was gay, but because he had an affair with a 15-year-old boy, some six years younger. Tim Considine also played Mike Douglas in "My Three Sons". I investigated on YouTube the first few episodes, which I don't remember. I just saw the fourth episode of the first season, in which Bub sets the clocks an hour ahead instead of behind yet on the day we resume standard time in 2009. I remember "My Three Sons" much later in the decade.
Someone noted in the end part that they were not impressed with a rocket launch (as it turned out from June 1957, before Sputnik). They also burned trash, which I haven't done since late 1967 in rural New Jersey.
Tim Considine also played a episode in "The Fugitive" during the last season in 1966. He's still a cute kid, even though he must be 25 then. I still marvel how total strangers believe David Janssen's character so readily. In this episode, the hospital doesn't even check insurance.
Wed 4 Nov 8:10 The god becomes king, 1980.
Yesterday proved overall a bad day. The final class on the foreign tax bill ended on computers. The election went badly, especially in Maine.
I left the van at Millevoi's for inspection. I discovered the owner's card hadn't been signed. Nonetheless, here we go again for the annual ritual.
I had a glipse of "My Three Sons" in its later stages, and I definitely prefer the original in black and white with Tim Considine and William Frawley. I suppose the producers thought the series was too misogynistic.
Hostages in Iran, 1979
There's still no word on any carpooling, so I may have to take the van there. I will try to get into a pool or form one.
I awoke from a dream where I was about to run another Red Dog Saloon. I was planning to run 1967. This morning I looked at an episode of "My Three Sons", and it intrigued me how to bring back the mysteries I used to write. Should I copy the premises from the original series out of 1960?

Sun 11 Oct 13:08
Yesterday I found a huge branch had fallen into the back garden. I had to saw it in half to get it ready to drag to the woods.
I am watching the presidential speech at the Human Rights Campaign. Obama mentions the Shepards nearly nine minutes into the speech. The speech sounds great, but we await the change.
Mon 12 Oct Tierra! Tierra! 8:15
What a weekend! I finished winterizing the house, by putting down the last of the storm windows and windowing the storm doors. Even though it plummeted to 5º, the heat did not go on.
I managed to leave messages on both Matthew's Place Guestbook and Logan's Voice. This week looks as though the act should become law.
I sent out HomCastle's application via fax fucha. Quicken is next.
Tue 13 Oct 15:18
To make the event more complicated, Wells Fargo finally called me back with the fourth salesperson. I left a message flat out telling them that they are last in line. I think they simply drop the charade and neglect.
Yesterday I listened to the Rush Limbaugh propaganda for the rich yesterday. Then along came Sean Hannity, fortunately cut off because the Phillies' game was coming on.
Meanwhile, the divisions are done, and the championship is next. New York vs. Los Angeles, and Los Angeles vs. Philadelphia. Not only are the Phillies the only team in the championship series alone in its city, but the Mets are conspicuous by their absence.
This morning, the temperature inside was 17.8º, even though outside it was 10º.
Thu 15 Oct 15:27
It decided to rain as I approached work while walking this morning. After all the tumult over the refinancing, today seems so calm. I gave Wells Fargo twentyfour hours to answer my voicemeail. Then I called back HomCastle, faxed over the papers still undone, and today I received a call for yet another appraisal.
Tonight I get to go home and stay there. I don't know when I'll get chance to take the final for Income of Foreigners, but I already have the credits to work at Block next year.
Sun 18 Oct 21:32
This weekend was a bust, primarily because my computer is still off the network. I had a runaround with ComCast, Net Gear, and Hewlett Packard. I fiddled with the computer. I must give up and pester Comcast again. Since Friday morning, the Net Gear link simply won't come up. I even bought another cable to no avail.
I did take and pass the test, but once again I have no feedback of what I missed. Philipp Rupf sent me an email, which I reproduced here (the written diary).
Mon 19 Oct 15:02
I called ComCast to come early Friday to reverse the network. It's been a frustrating weekend in my efforts to fix the broken Net Gear. All I gained was a simplified desktop. I found two old powercords using energy for nothing.
I didn't even bother turning on my main computer this morning. I was up at 4:30, and the only reason I went downstairs was to put on gloves to drage the heavier main branch from the fall into the back garden. I still the smaller piece to drag out.
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 13 October 1973 among the October War in the Middle East, Spiro Agnew's resignation, the 82-79 Mets in the World Series, and right before the Saturday Night Massacre.
Tue 20 Oct 14:38
I walked to work today, taking a small branch to the woods. I went to bed just past 8 PM and slept nearly to 6 AM. I don't even bother to turn on my computer downstairs. All I need to do is to dust both desktops for the ComCast technician.
Wed 21 Oct 14:50
The lingering effect of the last rebroadcast of American Top 40: Cheech and Chong's "Basketball Jones" provided laughs, but Bobby Goldsboro's "Summer (First Time)" really hit my right brain. I could see the images, especially the seashore, and both songs have a few videos on YouTube.
My first impression was "Not another song about losing virginity". I remember it back in my memory from 1973, but I doubt whether I had any maturity at the time to understand it. I even checked to find out whether I have the song on disc.
My things to do are accumulating this week. I plan on visiting tomorrow and decide on Toastmasters. I hate all the uncertainty; it makes last year at this time so wonderful.
Thu 22 Oct 15:03
Tonight's another opportunity with Toastmasters. As I await the latest appraisal to get along to a settlement, I still don't see much with Toastmasters. I feel as if my poverty had caught up to me. This week flew by with nothing gained.
Last night I began checking YouTube for older songs, such as the ones I used to play in 1962. While it stimulated past memories, it did not lead toward motivating me toward my goals.
Fri 23 Oct 19:18
Well, Comcast's technician showed up late without calling me first and left with both computers off the network. I called a halfhour later and managed to hook mine to the internet. Tomorrow they're sending another technician to hook the network back up.
Finally the Senate passed the Shepard bill with the Defense Act of 2010. The vote was 68-29 after a filibuster went down, 64-33. It took two weeks for the Senate to pass it after the House had.
The website of Sean William Kennedy noted that South Carolina has no biased crime acts AT ALL. Why should it be any surprise?
Sat 24 Oct Regular Diary (after my reviews of "The Meaning of Matthew' and "Conspiracy of the Rich")
It was so warm today that I opened the windows to let the heat (21º) in. The technician came and hooked up the router, but the other computer would not coöperate. Therefore, I need yet another service call.
I finished exchanging clothes for the winter. American TOp 40 ran Saturday, 30 October 1976. I remember what I was doing the Sunday before I actually heard the broadcast the first time. We were visiting our former home in Mountain Top and filling jugs of piped spring water.

I spent much time with MIT on YouTube. Walter Lewin fascinates with his teaching. The review of the Block course was not particularly helpful. I opened my Gleim on the computer and reviewed their test on gift taxes, although it was the edition from 2006.
Before I retired, I plunged into CPA review. I have much work to do, and I should begin with a schedule and execution. I just happened to open to agency.
I have the office to myself, so I must distribute the dirty mail. It's such a rarity, but I enjoy it.
Wed 23 Sept 15:15
This week I have three classes at Block, which cramps my style. I visited last night, and I am taking Friday off. It's time to winterize the house.
Meanwhile, negotiations with the title company continue. Monday was the original closing date. I proposed medical certification that Mom wants to sell the house to me. We cannot medically certify she was competent enought to revoke the living will.
Sat 26 Sept 17:44
Despite my having yesterday off, I was amiss in keeping up the diary. First, I survived the week. Part of the aliving came from an unusually easy test on Gift Taxes from the symposium. It allowed me to concentrate on the other courses. Although the Estate and Trust Symposium doesn't appear much given I've taken two courses on it already, the Advanced US Income of Noncitizens is quite another story. The former is two classes, which end on Monday. The latter runs four weeks into midOctober.
I received my two books from Amazon on Wednesday: "Conspiracy of the Rich" by Robert Kiyosaki and "The Meaning of Matthew" by Judy Shepard.
I read the Shepard book first. It explained a few irregularities I had found in Romaine Patterson's book. Judy and Matt Shepard were in apartments because the Shepards had sold their house when they moved to Dhahran in 1993. Therefore, "Story" lacks that aspect where Matt decides to move to Denver with Romaine.
Other aspects disagree with John Patrick Day's resources, although I cannot discuss them with him any longer. The incident with the bartender in Cody was in August, not Independence Day. Most telling was Matt's HIV infection. Romaine openly mentioned it, possibly as early in June. Judy mentioned it when Matt was admitted to the hospital. It explains why the infection did not show up in the autopsy.
Judy glosses over the trouble Matt was having academically by noting the work he was doing in texts and notes. It Matt were taking academics seriously, then wouldn't his grades duirng the summer session reveal it? After all, Judy did say in Vanity Fair for Mary 1999 that Matt had attention deficit disorder, and it was hard for him to get excellent grades.
21:35
I cleaned out the ducts yesterday, and Jeremy checked the furnace today. I spent some time with Donald Sadaway at MIT on chemistry.
I finished "Conspiracy of the Rich" today, and I have the urge for more. None of the books lay out any plans. I should review such books I've already. Both Harvey Dent and Robert Kiyosaki -- not to mention the Kipinger Letter -- expect large tax increases in 2011. Cutting the welfare of the rich remains out. I doubt if many of those taxes will hit the wealthy as well. The Republican strategy of dividing the classes will simply intensify.
Mon 28 Sept 14:59
Yesterday I spent too much time on the YouTube with Walter Lewin and the War of 1812. This week will be less hectic, for I have two classes instead of three. Maybe I can shop for food on Wednesday.
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 16 September 1978, the second weekend I moved to State College to live alone. We seem to be stuck among the nine years of 1970-78.
Wed 30 Sept 8:09
Yesterday was trying at work. Because of a change in scheduling, the courier did not pick up the mail I took down Monday morning. Therefore, I had to bring the mail back up to stamp, then back down for pickup. Finally, I took another load down. Among other things, the computer blocked my attempts to change orders, thinking they were sales orders.
Fri 2 Oct 14:50
The week went by without progress. Even the dental situation for Tim remains unresolved. I received a call from the social worker from Statesman this morning. Nothing came from Wells Fargo, and even the insurance continues to send for payment for the rest of the year, even though nothing has changed with the house!
Today my nose was running, although I don't think there's a cold. I had a flu shot, so my arm is sore at the location to add to my usual aches of middle age.
The theme seems to be 1969. In addition to my records, I searched for and found the surveys from WARM. However, this weekend will be a theme of closing storm windows and doors, along with progess on courses with Block.
Mon 5 Oct 8:10
I spent most of the weekend fighting off the reaction from the flue shot. I slept very irregularly Saturday morning; I was up before 4 AM. I had time to drag a large branch from the maple in the backyard in the dark. I easily recorded the rebroadcast of American Top 40 at ten to six. The show was from Saturday, 2 October 1971.
My nose ran continually on Saturday. Once again, I slept irregularly during the day, and I actually awoke after nine in time to go to bed. I was up again this morning before 5 AM.
Wed 7 Oct 14:20
I felt so ill on Monday I went home instead of visiting. Wells Fargo continues to ignore me, so I am beginning to search for another mortgagee.
Here we sit eleven years since the date was on a Wednesday. In 1998, Matthew Wayne Shepard sat tied to a fencepost for eighteen hours. In 2009, Congress is again debating the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. The gayfiends find absurd excuses not to pass it, for this time it becomes law.
Out of the blue, I checked on the playoffs. I came across a video of recent deaths in baseball. Mark Fidrych died in April, and I didn't even know it. I just remembered when he retired in 1980. Then I found out he had Polish ancestry to go with the blond curls.
I finally had a decent night sleep from 10-6. I awoke just before the alarm. Nightingale-Conant sent me a course on improving memory. I finally went for a haircut and groceries at Acme with doxycycline.
Sat 10 Oct 10:25
On this first anniversary of my receiving the movie "Terry", I finally found a place in the United States where there is a Terry Fox Run. Next Saturday in Manhattan, there is a run in Central Park.
Next Saturday will also be the anniversary of my interest in astronomy. Saturn has another giant ring around six to eighteen gigameters from the planet. Ice and dust compose the tenuous ring tilted 27º from the mean ring plane. It circles with Phoebe and against Iapetus. Iapetus has accumulated the debris on its so-called dark side (Cassini Regio).
20:47
President Obama addresses the Human Rights Campaign tonight. Even though a keynote address is nice, it provides no action. The only segment currently going through legislation is the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. I noticed no repesentatives from Wyoming have ever voted for it. I suppose we could excuse them as Republicans.
Judy Shepard appeared on Ellen yesterday. Like Judith Fox-Alder's interview about Terry Fox, I saw some pictures on the subject for the first time. In the former were three of Matt -- one with his (I think) paternal grandfather, one with a bicycle, and one with the core family at the Grand Canyon. In the latter, there ended one of Terry's waving at a crowd at night.

Tuesday morning I had two weird dreams: one was black-and-white where one of my coworkers, Marge L, told me they were firing people the night before. I also had a colored dream from Nanticoke. I was upstairs, and there were two additional rooms in front. The farthest had two toilets, and the ceiling was leaking.
This morning I was up at 4:40 after retiring at 9 PM. The night before I slept nearly ten hours. Both morning I walked to work in 13º coolness. I feel a bit achy, for I went all the way today. Yesterday I had a ride the final ten minutes. The bus was very late yesterday.
15:27
I had to wait nearly ten minutes before it showed up. The wrong bus came early enough to see its passing, but no one else was waiting all the time I was at the busstop.
This morning I passed the fellow who resembles Keith N, and he was lighting a cigarette as I passed him. I am still not over the circumstances of when I met Keith, now twentythree years ago.
Amazon asked me about placing a review on Sommersturm. I've already placed one on my site.
I realize now that the colored dream meant that my father took care of most things in the house. The color suggested an unfulfilled wish.
Thu 3 Sept 8:23
The ugliness of my future reared its head last night, even as I had to put on a cover, despite the closed windows. I don't see how I can get through this mess of a negative inheritance. I need an increase in income, no matter how I try to pass through this crisis.
Donald Sadoway has taken me into the eighteenth lecture on solid state cheimistry. I am puzzling over some aspects of crytallography, of which I've had little background.
14:57
On this date in 1980, I was at the peak of my adult life. It took little to make me happy then. I'd thought I made it through a summer of welfare and despair. Sometimes I wonder whether I'll ever be that happy again.
Meanwhile on this weekend, I must set up some kind of plan to turn around this wreck. I seem to have abandoned any momentum from this summer. Simply nothing happened due to the problem of refinancing.
Sat 5 Sept
I launched my first time at living alone on this date in 1978. American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 11 September 1971, which was the week I started high school.
I figured my cashflow while lying in the sun this afternoon. It will be very tight. I simply do not make enough income, even this late in the game.
Sun 6 Sept 18:05
It was on this date a decade ago. i went on the internet permanently. It was opening a new world to me, one I've never exploited monetarily.
Mon 7 Sept 20:55
After going through "How To Convert Debt into Wealth", I realized that I am missing not only goals but how to achieve them. Here I sit over four months since tax season ended, and I still can't get a clue how to proceed. When I had a measure of success in 1977 and 1980, I did have some kind of general plan. Since then, my general plan halted with the MBA. I've been drifting ever since which only now becomes focused.
Thu 10 Sept 14:28
Twice I've received bills for naught: one from Energy Concepts, the other from Water Maintenance. I now realize that my problems for oer a quarter of a century concern not just goals but the means.
I decided not to go to Toastmasters this month. I have a Block course in two weeks. Tonight is the humorist contest. Nothing seems to progress this month. I am still awaiting word from Wells Fargo, which delays any decision with Toastmasters.
Fri 11 Sept 6:58
Rain canceled my plan to walk today. I should have walked yesterday and visited today.
We had a departmental meeting yesterday from 9-10, and apparently the group at accounts receivable have been breaking rules about checking in and out and being at work when work starts.
With worklessness nearly 10%, I would think some would not risk suspension and termination over such trivialities.
Jim Vitangele died. His stepdaughter works at Statesman, and we talked when I visited last night. I went there after a trip to KMart and Savealot. I still spent $25 at each.
Tue 15 Sept 20:30 36 years to go
Delays on the refinancing continue. I am in a monolog with Wells Fargo. The title company is balking over the revoked living will.
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 24 September 1977. Not only did I hear the original show on WILK the day after, I remember where I was on that Sunday. We were in Sugar Notch visiting my two maternal uncles. I was so incredibly naïf back then.
I bought a disposable camera to get pictures of the van for the lawyer. When I took them to WalMart, I found out that I had to wait a week for development!
Sat 19 Sept 16:14
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 19 September 1970, exactly 39 years ago today. I don't expect to live that long again. Anyway, I awoke just in time to record it from 5:50 this morning.
I began my classes at Block. Next week will be very busy with three nights taken. I will need to take Friday off!

Sun 16 Aug 20:10
Another disgruntling three-day weekend had only provided a respite from my problems. To think of how I felt this date in 1977, as we discovered Elvis Presley had died. I was planning my entire academic year, my second sophomore year at Penn State. Everything seemed so simple then, and I had so much time for such activities.
This date in 1989, I had just finished the open house with the Astronomy Club. There had been a lunar eclipse On Madonna's birthday, a Wednesday morning. I was juggling two parttime jobs, and my weekends at WRSC merely supplemented my meager income, a role which Block now fills.
Mon 17 Aug 8:10
Too much to do today -- I had to drive. I faxed the information on the living trust, brought some roses of Sharon, and later to get an appraisal. In addition, I am having trouble with Rosetta Stone. It's outdated its data base.
Fri 21 Aug 14:20
Wednesday I dropped the van off for an oil change, and I picked it up on the way home. Every morning Had started in the 20º's, and this morning started at 26º! Fortunately I drove in so I can stop at Shop Rite this afternoon.
I received a comprehensive report of the appraisal, and I must concede its accuracy. It compares six other houses in the area, with adjustments for the differences. Apparently housing prices dropped 5% since the Schrubbish last fall.
I am toying with the idea of taking a course in the fall, but I should make it useful for the voluminous materials I already have here, and save the actual degree in pursuit next year. There is so much to pursue: CPA, CFP, and registered stockbroker. Appraising might be a ticket into real estate as well.
Sun 23 Aug 17:25
I finally pocketed a course with Block, giving me sixteen credits. Two other attemps flopped. American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 28 August 1976, the day before we returned to the zoo on Coal Street after three days in Atlantic City and three more in Andalusia. I think I first saw "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" at the time over in the Woodhaven Mall when it was a mall.
On this date in 1987 I left Bensalem with the option of returning one day. Little did I know that a nasty surprise awaited me on State College. I'd rather pantomime Elton john in the number one song "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" in 1976. At the time I had the dopey eyeglasses and the iron-on teshirt.
Tue 25 Aug 19:30
Ah, the day I left 106 Stewart hall thirtyone years ago reminds me of swearing off ever living in a dormitory again. My whole world was about to fall apart again, unfortunately not the last time I gave up another dream.
Block intervened with an update on email. However, the state seminar is already filled.
Thu 27 Aug 14:38
The death of Ted kennedy was hardly a surprise because of the rate of suvival on tumors in the brain. Apparently he will also be buried in Arlington while the Senate may now have the opportunity to dump reforming health care.
On the other side of the view, I came across a young athlete on You Tube named Kyle Miller, who also had osteogenic sarcoma. His right leg from above the knee to the ankle has a titanium prosthesis, and he's playing lacrosse on a national team, which won in 2006.
I had a variation on the weird dreams in the bedroom. This time I was back in 1967 in Hackettstown, and the room was growing past the size of my former motelroom.
Mike B sent me a political cartoon, which I found in poor taste over Ted kennedy,. Supposedly Marijo Kopechne, an aborted fetus, and a disarmed victim of crime judge on whether Ted enters heaven.
Scientific American keeps coming. I found an issue from December on peptide nucleic acids, a thought never before had occured. Suppose there were such molecules at the beginning of life. Why would they dominate and why would ribose gain dominance later? My guess is that the negative charge limited RNA and DNA to two strands, which ultimately led to sexual reproduction.
Sun 30 Aug 19:01
My trip to the tag dealer helped clarify what it takes to switch ownership. Now the possiblity looms to salvage ownserhip of the van and the house, although it means I may not be able to maintain them long with my income.
I cam across both eulogies from yesterday from Ted Kennedy Jr and Patrick Kennedy. Of course, Fred Phelps has Ted Kennedy in hell. Mental illness gives religion a bad name.
The shift to September becomes obvious as the shortening days and the noisy insects give a feeling of late summer.
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 6 September 1975, which flooded my memory of beginning Penn State. I was the kid in the candy store with unlimited potential.

Sat 1 Aug 20:10
It's been a hectic week as I've gone over pictures from the early 1960's. I find one picture causing a flood of memories of what was occurring at the time. I can almost see, hear, and feel the incidents of early summer 1962. It was such a time for innocence and relative freedom. I had no one's tearing down my self-esteem, nor anyone's pushing me back to mediocrity.
As I receive stuff for education, I hadn't thought of the whole scheme as part of the stimulus. Now I must decide which way to go.
I read over the last packages from Wells Fargo on the refinance. Apparently they are only for my reference. So I return to the requirements of getting the deal along next week. I will be going to the evaluation at Statesman. I also expect the movie "Sommersturm"on Monday as well.
Sun 2 Aug 20:17
It mostly rained today, so I barely went outside. I went over the terms of the mortgage, and I must clarify some of the requirement. It's weird taking off Monday instead of Friday.
Provoking my memory is the rebroadcast of American Top 40 for Saturday, 6 August 1977. Ironically Casey Kasem talks about Elvis Presley, not knowing that "Way on Down" was going to be the last hit record and Elvis would be dead in ten days.
My latest attempt on a course with Block fell through, the second one already. Obviously my technique and method need work.
Wed 5 Aug 14:28
Apparently my time with the papers Well Fargo had sent has diminished. I found out yesterday that someone else is handling the refinance. I find out what the new set of requirements are, although the title search and hazard insurance do not appear to be one of them.
My visit to Statesman became a surprise because of bad communication. I was there for nearly a halfhour before Lynette realized I was there. The session itself lasted fifteen minutes at most. I think I'll visit again tomorrow. Toastmasters is having a special session as well.
I received "Sommersturm" on Monday, and it was as I'd expected it. They speak German too fast for my ears. I so wish they'd included captions in German as well as in English.
I received two discs on mistakes and failures. I hope to use the information as I decide what to do next. Apparently there is a Career Stimulus Program, so I intend to use it, as I try to get over the disease of Reaganomics.
Thu 6 Aug 8:05
I went through "Sommersturm" again with will extra toward understanding the German. There is no other options than German dialog and English subtitles.
I faxed the entire application and items for the underwriters of the refinance. Hopefully I sent over everything they want until we approach closing.
Sat 8 Aug 17:45
Today was listless. I was up at 5:30, long before American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 4 August 1973. It was the time after I'd gone through driver's ed and before I gave up my paper route in anticipation of moving from Mountain Top to Wilkes-Barre.
A snag in the refinance occurred as to whether the house was still in the living will. i still have nearly two weeks to fix it in time. The living will must have been revoked by now.
It's fiftytwo weeks today since I began living alone, with only the dog.
Mon 10 Aug 14:41
I spent another weekend alone, mostly going through the MIT course in solid state chemistry. I am now passed ten lectures. Some of the material I never had. Even in organic chemistry, we never discussed linear combinations of atomic orbitals.
The appraiser came a little before 7 AM, while I was dressing. I received no commitment of the value. I was forced to drive to work today.
Tue 11 Aug 21:28
It's now twentyfour years ago since I first saw "Back to the Future". I was nearly halfway thought my time of delivering newspapers and well past the halfway point of being a hostage of Reaganomics. Then the next year I was about to lose my worthless job at Wawa's. The only way I broke the string was to go back to State College and into more trouble!
Sat 15 Aug 18:25
The appraisal was appallingly high, until I checked with realestate.com. Still, I'd like to get another opinion before I shell out $75,000 of debt on the property.
Yesterday I cleaned more of Mom's room, but I still didn't find any rings. I search for dust bunnies around the rest of the floor today.
American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 26 August 1978, which was the day after I left 106 Stewart Hall. I returned to State College eleven days later, when I moved into my former motelroom for the next six years!
I spent much of the day on the MIT course of solid state chemistry, lectures 13 and 14. My next attempt at the Block course on 709 flopped again.

Tue 21 Jul 14:57
Yesterday left my churning over the huge problem. Apparently Statesman has not been clear in communicating with me. Rumors run through the emails. I never told them that I did not want them to contact me, nor did they ever comment on the clothes. I should have figured the latter one out, for they kept buying Tim clothes when I thought he'd had enough. He decides which ones are "ratty".
The only good news yesterday after I wasted my time at Walmart and the library was the Senate passed the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Act, 63-28. Human Rights were complaining about the four amendments, but others were satisfied it passes, albeit ten years later.
Last night, in awaiting the twentyninth anniversary of my triumph, I read my diary from the summer of 1980. I wrote very little, even about the call at 4:05 PM from the History Department at Penn State. E Kepler Sones offered me a graduate teaching assistantship. I was so happy, I would have gone there right away if it hadn't been so late in the day. I put on and danced to "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer, as I moved around the confining former motelroom. It was one Monday I'll never forget nor denounce!
Wed 22 Jul 17:08
I had an exchange which gave me the most financial stress since 1989. I slept poorly and dreamed of the former motelroom. However, I moped around the floor today. Only a brief nap during my hour off helped.
Fri 24 Jul 15:00
During my lunchbreak yesterday, I called Wachovia to refinance the house. It will work if my estimate holds up. I figure fifty thousand to cash out. Reaganomics strikes again in the two forms of senility and stupidity. Alzheimer's not only destroyed my inheritance, but now I must pay for it. Thanks to Schrubomics, Medicaid has the ability to take over properties jointly held.
I drove on that day so I could visit and go to Toastmasters. Tim bumped his left foot, but the results were negative. Then Toastmasters proved ineffective. The thought of quitting did cross my mind, for I've made no progress over the past few years. I must figure this one out this weekend.
I finally bought another walkman, but I should have bought two. I tested it this morning as I walked to work, and it will do for the many lessons I intend to put on cassette tape.
Ugh! It was on this date in 1965 I went to Camp Saint Andrew for the worst week of my life. I don't think I ever recovered from the bad three years in Ashley, especially that year.
Sun 26 Jul 19:40
I spent both days at home without speaking to another human being. I spent much of yesterday searching for rings around the house. I found no rings, but plenty of photographs. I will try again next weekend.
For the first time ever, it dawned on me that the property will soon be mine. I try to shirt the plans toward the future afterwards.
Tue 28 Jul 14:30 Terry Fox's 51st
I received the refinancing and the closing costs are included in the mortgage. The estimate of the appraisal is higher than mine. I have until 21 September.
Nancy Giardinelli died on Saturday, and the funeral is tomorrow. She was the only person who ever gave me a permanent fulltime job.
Thu 30 Jul 14:23
Tonight I begin the setup of the mortgage. I've already figured that $125 extra a month would cut the length from thirty to twenty years, if I can do it.
I visited last night, but I didn't see any open house at Statesman. I reprinted a few more pictures from the past. I also tested my memory on the periodic table of the elements and the prime ministers of Canada. I tested myself yesterday and this morning, and I have them down. Unfortunately my taped recitation broke, so I'll have to make another. Nonetheless, the neurons are still there and connected.
Fri 31 Jul 14:37
Last night I received a disclosure of truth-in-lending from Wells Fargo. This weekend will show the work on the mortgage as refinanced. I am taking off Monday instead of today.

Mon 13 Jul 15:00
Last night I finished "Lyndon Johnson: Master of the Senate". Most of it revolved around the Civil Rights Act of 1957, and it was on my day of birth Clinton Anderson gave Lyndon Johnson the opening to change the bill and avoid a filibuster. However, the provisions taken out still didn't prevent the confrontation at Little Rock a few months later. Afterwards the rest of LBJ's term as majority leader seems anticlimatic. Sputnik just gave him the chance to put the space center in Houston.
You Tube was down yeaterday, so I looked for another videosite. Google provided one, and I saw a video on Terry Fox I'd never seen called "Timeline from Dream to Death". There was also a video on Nikola Tesla on that site. I had no time for others, although I spoke to no human beings for almost three days.
The vendor left a load this morning, so I must carry some of it home today. Although it was in the upper teens this morning, I was sweating when I arrived. I seem stuck around 106 kg.
Wed 15 Jul 15:22
Statesman called to inform me that Lori had taken over the primary contact. It was inevitable, for she's probably taken over guardianship. It comes down to years of underemployment. Reaganomics remains a disease from which I've never recovered. It also means it's time for me to break out over the next few months for the next few years.
Last night I opened my preparation for the Enrolled Agent and looked under Trusta and Estates for an overall review. I should dive into the big three tests: enrolled agent, certified finanical planner, and certified public accountant.
I walked the third day in a row, but my weight didn't budge. All that exercise should stimulate the neurogenesis, just like eighth grade. Before I left this morning, I came across a video on You Tube with Judy Shepard and Harry Reid -- the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act is finally coming out to the Senate floor. Were they waiting for Al Franken to come in and be seated?
I looked up SEPTA last night, and it will be difficult to get to Statesman by bus. it should be cheaper than a taxi. The other question is how to arrange Toastmasters near the Oxford Valley Mall.
Fri 17 Jul Phyllis Diller is 92 15:15
I was going to walk, but the computer was giving me trouble. When I returned online for the empowerment, I finally got through to the schedule of appointmnets at Franklin Mills. However, the times available for consultants were from 10-4:30! it was too late to make arrangements. Given the circumstances I have now, it's be a very good idea to try to change my finances.
Mon 20 Jul 14:20 "One small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind." Neil Armstrong
It took all weekend to uphold the status quo as the best solution. I can maintain the house and the van just as I've done the past year. When I mentioned giving back the van, I received much resistance. I simply don't have the income to buy the van, and I certainly don't have the income for a refinancing scheme. Then came the proposition for selling the house, which brings up another senseless move which will cause more trouble.
I finished as course on gifting, giving me thirteen credits already. I should aim up one, but not while I still must hit foreign income first. I cannot move up one level at Block, unless I get through the previous one.
Walter Conkite died on Thursday at 92, and Frank McCourt died yesterday at 78. WOGL played a segment of Waltere Cronkite's announcememt of the landing on the moon.

Sun 21 Jun 12:30 A&F is 45.
I was up at 4:30, so I ran around the neighborhood for a kilometer. I recorded all of American Top 40 outside the extraneous talk and the commercials, which still consumed a hundred minutes. Yesterday the rebroadcast came from Saturday, 26 June 1971, before Ryan Seacrest was born!
I read through Ted Kennedy's "Back on Track", as I once again try to regain my reading abilities. Now I must return to my efforts to regain my abilites from Block online.
Sat 27 Jun 13:28
Thursday evening I could not find where Chili's was, so I did not go to Toastmasters. On Friday morning I went to the closer Social Security, and I finished within ten minutes. I stopped at PathMark for groceries, then WalMart for backpacks. I still managed to spend nearly all my money, but I am waiting until next week to replenish my cash.
What a week for death! First, Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on Thursday. I swept out the driveway yesterday, and I should do so again today.
Sun 28 Jun Terry Fox 1958-81 14:56
I had a dream about Terry this morning. It's been 28 years since he died on Sunday, 28 June, a month short of his 23rd birthday on 28 July. I'm not sure if I had been in his body, for someone was calling me while using his name. If so, there are times I wish I'd been there.
I just put the air conditioner in my room. It's been nineteen years since I bought my first one. Getting back to 1981, I was lying in insolation an hour ago when I thought once again, how little I had then, yet I was happy. Perhaps therein lies one of the problems. I lowered my expectations to meet the situation, but I merely postpones the decision.
Another thought paralleled my experience in lower grade school. Becoming mediocre seems to be the norm in the working world as well. No one really improves after meeting a level of competence!
Wed 1 Jul 14:25
Monday night I visited Lou's after work, and last night it was Shoprite. Also last night I pulled out Rosetta Stone to add in the other two levels of Irish. After a brief struggle, I put in the other levels.
Thu 2 Jul 14:44
I went straight home last night, only to discover I should have bought color ink for the printer. Therefore, I'm stuck going for it tonight.
Sun 5 Jul 16:12
Back in 1981, I was coming back to State College from Philadelphia. On the elevated train, some stranger showed me an antiCatholic quote about not calling anyone on earth 'father'. Little did I know that my view on Catholicism would be so different.
I brought my brother home on Thursday night, and we've been home since then. Outside of scrubbing the floors in the kitchen and the bathroom, I had done a little housework, along with two washes, both dried on lines outside.
Progress runs slowly with the book on Lyndon Johnson - Master of the Senate. I am changing backpacks in preparation of walking tomorrow.
Mon 6 Jul 8:23
It's been too long since I walked last. I was a bit tired when I arrived. It may be seven months since I last walked to work. I even talked into my recorder.
Thu 9 Jul 15:00
After walking twice and bussing back, I feel better physically. Yesterday I went to Block for a town meeting. Now I can plan on the rest of the offseason.
Tonight I go to Toastmasters after my visit. I've made no progress, and I wonder how I can get there without a vehicle.
The summer contines cool. Another night in the teens has allowed me to evade air conditioning. I also finished my first comic in five months.
Sat 11 Jul 10:50
The situation over the house is becoming ugly. Tim does not like the idea of giving the dog away. However, I don't like leaving her home for over fifteen hours a day during tax season.
I still haven't finished "Master of the Senate".
22:51
In contrast to my comic, I did not have chance of falling asleep under Vega at midnight. The rainstorm at 2 AM in 1987 come earlier on this birthday. Perhaps I have another comic. I spent the entire day without speaking to another human being.
After cleaning the area around my clothesracks in the basement, I found more of Tim's clothes along with a few of mine. I washed a bagful of his for a full load today.
I found additional waterproofing for the deck, so I spent yeaterday afternoon on the banisters and today on the flooring. I have still a half a can, along with a wash for next year.
It's been nine months since I received the movie "Terry" (and subsequently bought "The Terry Fox Story"), and therefore I am reminded of that I'd like to have done twentynine years ago. On this date in 1980, I would have enjoyed running down University Boulevard behind Terry in Toronto -- I have never been in Toronto, alhtough I've visited Ontario three times, all before 1980. The other fantasy is I'd like to have known what Terry was thinking in the shower at the Four Seasons Hotel in Montréal on Monday, 23 June 1980.

Wed 3 Jun 15:11
I began the week in 1977 because the rebroadcast of American Top 40 was from Saturday, 18 June! Afterwards, I went back to what was the 13th anniversary of A&F, and I began to redraw it. As simplistic as it was, it still took some time to draw it out. i wonder how far away I was from the likes of "Calvin and Hobbes".
I went to Staples to buy updgrades for the computers, because the programs of the spyware and the antivirus will expire next month. Tonight I visit Tim.
Sat 6 Jun 12:18
I went to ShopRite on Thursday night, and I grabbed "The Dark Knight", which occupied the evening. Last night I tried the French version and now the Spanish version I have on.
This morning American Top 40 had on Saturday, 9 June 1973, which was the twelfth birthday of Michael J Fox. I intend to arrange the courses for Block.
Sun 7 Jun 12:15
I was up early to halfrun around the neighborhood and to discover where American Top 40 is currently run on Sunday mornings. I taped only the top ten, and I need more cassettes.
Fri 12Jun 20:38
On my planned day off, I wanted to renew my driver's license, but I found out that I go there once I get a photocard. Nonetheless, the bureaucrat gave me a number to stand in line for nothing. Holy George W Schrub!
Then I went to KMart for cassette tapes, and they had them, unlike WalMart. While I was there, I went to Save-A-Lot, my first time there for groceries.
Otherwise I continued to varnish the deck; I finished the outside banister. I also ran through even more MIT Biology from Fall 2004.
After realizing the danger of the gasoline in the basement, I began to use it in the mower tonight. THe garden shows some life with a little bit of beets, beans, tomatoes, and a load of radishes. I aslo activated my card for health insurance.
I am toying with so many ideas for the fortyfifth anniversary of A&F. I have the golfing angle.
Sat 13 Jun 14:30
I varnished some more of the deck, but it rained to prevent my finishing it. I finished the MIT Biology for Fall 2004. Now I have the same for Spring 2005.
I colored my hair for cutting last night. I also discovered the reading glasses left here work so well for me.
Mon 15 Jun 14:30
I recorded both American Top 40. Saturday morning Casey Kasom ran for Saturday, 19 June 1976, and I caught much of Ryan Seacrest on Sunday morning.
I finished varnishing the deck. My next activity will be painting the window frames along with the doors.
The food service threw out at least eleven items this morning. I suppose it's a change of policy. Everything was solid.
Fri 19 Jun 8:22
It's been a long week. On Monday, I went to PathMark and WalMart. At the latter, I bought reading glasses at double magnification. Some silly woman hailed me when I was almost out of the first aisle in the lot. When I refused to jump the battery, she laid a curse at me! Thus, I was justified in not helping. Suppose I'd been walking home from the busstop? I don't own a vehicle.
However, I then had too little money for a haircut on Tuesday, so I went to Lou's for produce. On Wednesday, after stopping for money in the morning, I had my hair cut. When I came home the photocard was there.
Last night I looked into the possibility of going for the license that evening.
15:02 When I saw that they were open until 6 PM, I went there first and no one else was there! I had my license within five minutes. I visited Tim for over an hour afterwards.
Today I plan to stop at ShopRite on the way home. I had to spent $27 on gasoloine to get ten gallons. Since the beginning of the year, gasoline has risen nearly $1 a gallon.
I've spent much of the week on redrawing A&F from 1977, to the neglect of the 45th anniversary now. I also have been going through the tomes I bought from the library a few weeks ago. Reading glassed have made it possible. Lyndon Johnson is about to enter the Senate after a brief introduction in the book, "Master of the Senate".

Tue 26 May 8:05
The weekend ended with little done. We went to the parade too early. It turned out that it started at 10 AM. It was the first one I've seen since 1994. The mayor managed to stop by us. Outside of the runs around the neighborhood On Saturday and Monday mornings, I did not leave the ground for three days.
I did come across a lecture on electromagnetism for MIT's course with Walter Lewin. I also made some progress with Block on trusts and estates..
I cleaned the wood on the deck, exposing my back to sunlight. I burned while awaiting the p;arade, especially on my vamps.
Wed 27 May 14:37
Yesterday the imposter Triumph showed up, nine weeks after the imposter Disaster. I had another rushjob wiht Flynn O Hara. This time they had a large difference in costs of their sheet and our computed costs. When i questioned it, it turned out that the prices in the computer for the customer were wrong. Due to the mix of the contribution margins, the last time I entered a similar order, it showed a profit, and the costs matched. However, the prices were offf as well.
Once fixed, the difference on the order was nearly thirty thousand, or my yearly wages. In any case, I wonder why I didn't catch it in March. The veep sent an email of praise to my boss. I tried to forward it home, but it would not print properly.
At home, I found my fuel bill nearly disappeared for this year. I paid nearly twice for oil during the past heating season. With a few hundred saved every month, I can get the fence fixed. It eases my burden.
My trip to the dermatologist seemed futile. I go again late November.
Sat 30 May real Memorial Day 9:07
Yesterday I went over some of my notes from linear algebra. Once again, as I'd discovered with differential equations, the problem was NOT the concepts; it was the arithmetic and algebraic errors, which caused me to get lost in the trees!
Sun 31 May 10:44
My encounter with Block was just a passing exist interview. I now

Mon 18 May 14:33
I finished my first course online of the basics of the taxation of trusts and estates. They system was so cockeyed that it told me that I passed and did not pass at the same time. Nonetheless, I received the certificate.
While reading my comics, I realized that I was image streaming at the time. While not as sophisticated nor formal as a diary, it was serving as a substitute. Later I began to concretized my scenes in the summer of 1977.
This weeked I mowed the lawns, but the motor kept conking out once I reached halfway along the front. Last night I cleaned out the debris from the blades' path. Apparently, pieces of branches were stuck along the end and stopped the blades. I should check the oil as well next time.
Next weekend I'll still be busy with guests this time. I haven't finished dusting my bookcases. So many books remind me of shattered dreams and raise so much dust to cause me to sneeze!
Tue 19 May 8:27 My MBA is 25.
I voted in the primary, but last night's meeting with the Bensalem Democratic club was quite annoying how they conduct meetings.
15:00
I just had my first insolation this year, rather late. It was only 5º this morning, and the furnace was on. I just emptied the dehumidifier and left everything alone.
Thu 21 May 15:03
I opted out of the seminar with Robert Kiyosaki's group. Liberty Resources never called me back, but they did! I had to defer my commitment when they called, even though I had no intention to go to the seminar by that time. Still, I didn't get what I wanted to do done. With my brother home this weekend, it'll be difficult to get much done, although I expect to varnish the deck. I've been insolating for a few minutes every day during my hour off.
Sat 23 May 18:28
It's been a day since I began the weekend off a sour note from my job with a last-minute rush of a job with no authorization for me to enter. Then the buyer wanted the order invoiced right away, leaving no room for error.
Today my guest showed up in the afternoon with food and without enthusiam for the video "The Terry Fox Story". She also left early before the video was finished. Somehow I think it'd have been better had I not a guest this weekend.
American Top 40 not only repeated 1978, but also the same broadcast from Saturday, 8 May.

Sun 10 May
Another three-day weekend with little accomplished. I began my journey with the Block courses. I also continued my struggle with both courses in biology. It's been a long time since I had those courses from 1977 and 1980, botany and zoology, respectively.
I clean up more of the basement while the Mets were cleaning up the Pirates at Citi Field.
Genetics on MIT over You Tube was difficult, but I plowed through it.
Mon 11 May 14:40
I saw "The Terry Fox Story" the third time in three days. At the end Robert Duvall, as Bill Vigers, says, "He was a good kid, and I don't want you to forget him." It just occurred to me that Sam Waterston, as Dennis Shepard, also says, "He was a good kid." right before the end of "The Matthew Shepard Story".
I also noticed last night that Eric Fryer not only looks much like Terry, but also he has a wen just below his left cheek like Terry, albeit the wen is slightly more forward on his face.
I began the book on the college grad job hunter from 1977, which the library was discarding for a half dollar. I could have used it in 1977.
Tue 12 May 14:40
This morning I realized how little I have done since tax season ended nearly four weeks ago. I didn't do much job searching, nor in drawing A&F et alia. I'm having flashbacks of the summer of 1980 and 1977. While they are not pretty, I search for the insight.
Wed 13 May 14:46
Further on "The Terry Fox Story", I did notice some pleasant moments. Robert Duvall, as Bill Vigers, hugs Eric Fryer as Terry Fox, at least twice. The first time he says, I love you", which would be my sentiment as well at the time. Despite his flaws, Terry Fox was very lovable because of what he did. His bitchiness was part of his drive and his effort, not to mention his humanity.
Shawn Ashmore gives a different aspect of Terry Fox, and no less valuable. Terry had his principles and his goals with a tenacity so few of us have.
There are a few contradictions between the two movies, such as when Bill Vigers and Darrell Fox joined the Marathon of Hope, and when Doug Collins wrote that silly article stating Terry ran only a third of the way in Québec. As Jean-Paul Sartre hints in "La Nausée", there is no way to tell one's story without distortion.
Thu 14 May 15:13
I found it impossible to get onto the Block website last night. The site was running so slowly that I went to bed after taking a bath, but not before I found JK Lasser's book as inadequate for trusts and estates. It's now four weeks since tax season has ended with little to show for it.
I just called to update the Penn State Alumnic Directory, and they tried to get me to buy one. There is no way I'm spending over $100 for another book I don't need. My purchase of a similar book for Bishop Hoban in 2007 for $80 led to absolutely nothing! There is no benefit.
The week seems as listless as any other. I did find the notebook I used for abstracts of A&F, so maybe I can continue from where I started in September, or really in 1987.
Sun 17 May 11:12
I spent bit of yesterday and this morning on the MIT sequence of basic biology of lectures 19-22, mostly around cancer. Otherwise, I seem to be able to do a little each weekend.
I went to ShopRite before the final capping of my fifth tooth but I couldn't find my checkbook. Therefore, the YMCA delays some more.
American Top 40 repeated 1977 -- Saturday, 14 May to be exact. Consequently I find myself thinking about what I was doing at that time.
Eric L sat next to me at Toastmasters. I was in the washroom regretting that he wasn't there, and when I left, there he was looking for the meeting room. We were meeting back in the executive boardroom that evening. Eric's second speech, on job hunting, left slip that he smoked at one time. I could not help thinking that similarly to my father that smoking triggered lymphoma. In Eric's case, they caught it in time.

On this date in 1970, the contrast in class was astounding. Sister Dolorette finished religion and quietly walked out of the room. Mr Halas came in agitiated because Nixon had invaded Cambodia. What if we had to clean it out again? What I did not know at the time was he was still in line for the draft.
Sat 2 May 20:00
My trip to the dentist proved more expensive becasue the breaks in the tooth worsened. In addition to the cap on the upper right second first molar, it needed some buildup. Fortunately the nerve was not involved, so I avoided a rootcanal.
Tue 5 May Cinco de Mayo 1862
Last night was so miserable that I decided not to visit anyone and went home after dropping off the vial for refilling doxymyacin. I will try again to get the package.
Wed 6 May 14:40
Tonight I intend to visit ShopRite on the way home. I am going to get a card. I buy too much from PathMark, and I used to alter my time between the two back in 1986.
Thu 7 May 14:12
Another rainy day produced the entire week of frustration. Once again, I am going to try getting tasks done on a three-day weekend.
Fri 8 May 13:02
Gregory Gorgeous fascinates me. This seventeen-year-old seems to enjoy who he is and what he does. Like Bo Burnham, he must be thinking of making money.
19:27
Despite the lack of a tracking online, I received the video of "The Terry Fox Story". It is just a little longer than "Terry", but it is also more realistic and gives a better background of Terry Fox.

Twentynine years since my first bout of existential nausea, and I'm still feeling it! American Top 40 focuses on Saturday, 8 May 1971. I remember that week I'd been sick the first three days. I was so far ahead of the class that I stayed ahead. I remember we were finishing up World War II in class after I had read the book ten times to the 1960's! I am now trhying to get back that mental prowess; the neurons are still connected!

Mon 20 Apr 14:57
I went to bed just past 8 PM, so I awoke just past 2:30! At 3 AM, I went downstairs and tried to get online tasks done. About 4:20, I went back to bed while looking at a book from 1977. It's been a long time since I had a decent course in biology.
On the tenth anniversary of Columbine and 120 years since the birthday of Der Führer, I played "Der Führer's Face" this morning. Last night I found enough of videos of cartoons from World War II, along with exerpts from "The Producers" with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. Springtime for Hitler indeed!
On the weekend, I checked My Block. Neither client bothered to come in on Thursday, so I don't receive a commission. I've already paid for the courses for next year.
It's a flood watch tonight, so I may not be going to Statesman. I will have to stop at Walmart for ink and a timer.
Wed 22 Apr 14:20
I have finally reached the end. After exhausing futile emails with my sister, I decided to cancel my trip to Penn State. I still have no place to leave the dog, and no one will be there on Friday. Otherwise, I'd go by bus if the motel I reserved weren't so far away from State College. I suppose I should just give up and try a substitute for contacts.
Thu 23 Apr 8:14
I stopped at my cousin's to drop off the tin from last Christmas, but no one was home. Then I canceled my trip for the reunion. There were too many problems with the dog, the motel, and my sister's family. I could use the weekend to continue my spring cleaning and other outdoor activities.
14:30
While I filled out an application for the YMCA, I suddenly remembered that it is 39 years ago tonight that I went to my first spelling bee. With a little guidance, I could have done much better the next eyar.
Back then, the teachers actually encouraged excellence, instead of the interviewers who fear anyone so showing potential. "You're overqualified!" shouts the Schrubbish brained.

The triumphal bust of a day produced the death of Beatrice Arthut. Progress remains slow, but my uncle took the last of Mom's clothes, and I am trhowing out much of the rest.
Casey Kasem's American Top 40 covered 1974 this weekend. How naïf I was then.
I had to straighten out Waste Management because I discovered the last bill I paid was November. i called for the amount in February. Tehy were supposed to stop picking up Friday, but somehow they still picked up the load and the recyclables. Even the senior citizens rate is rather hight, so I'll simply change it to an easy pay and end the paper bills. Once they get my payment next week, I should be able to arrange it.
Sun 26 Apr 14;08
I decided to stay home today, a final yield to a weekend of futility. Meanwhile I began to trace my own futility to the subject of biology. It seems those ciritical times occured when I took that subject. First, high school provided the first deviation, unlike Earth Science the previous year. Then I struggled with organic chemistry four years later, which botany covered it up with a too-easy course. Then I ran into futility with zoölogy three years later. That summer covered it up again with my graduate teaching assistantship. I never really gave up biochemistry, which reappeared in my phantomic sixth year of graduate school. Could it be once I straighten out biology, the rest would fall in as well?
Wed 29 Apr 8:02
I should have seen the trend back in 2006. Yesterday Arlen Specter switched parties in the Senate. It looks as though I'll be voting for him for the first time since 1980. It's been a long thirty years.
14:28
The last time I voted for Arlen Specter was 1980. At the time I was going to vote for Pete Flaherty, whom I had supported again Dick Thornbush for governor in 1978. Then sneaky Pete came out for the so-called Human Life Amendment. Even as a staunch Catholic, I opposed such attempt to mar our Constitution.
Part of the Specter campaign called WDFM, and I happened to answer the call. I told them that I was changing my vote because of the announcement.

Fri 10 Apr 17:25
When I was digging the front garden and transplanting grass, I noticed weakness on either side of the fence. I see a project for the summer. Outside of the routine, I accomplished little today. It's time for Block.
Today makes six months since I received "Terry". Various projects runs through my mind undone.
Sat 11 Apr 11:57
Besides three Easters, this date was also the only time I went to the University of Scranton. Back in 1978, I had no classes and no work on Tuesdays, so I accepted an invitiation from Fred Stefon to go to the various seminars. Michael Harrington spoke of the wonders of socialism, and they discussed Roe vs Wade in another seminar. Despite being in a Jesuit school, a Lutheran minister denounced the elevation of a fetus into a fullblown human being. I've had no such experience in thrityone years.
Like today, it was overcast and rainy. I was in the final months of driving the Belaire. Having a huge car with only seatbelts and a standard shift seems so anachronous today with shoulder straps and automatic transmission.
Standford's fourth lecture on Chemical Engineering took me back to 1982, when I was suditing such courses at Penn State. It clarified some of the concepts I had encountered then, which is what I wanted all along.
Sun 12 Apr 15:07 Easter
It's sunny, windy, and cold today. I ran around the neighborhood just above freezing at 2º. I am so immersed in digging through accumulated junk left over the past three months. Over the next three months, I will have garbage's going out at twice the rate, while I cut off even more input.
Tue 14 Apr
Last night I had one client started, to be finished on Wednesday. Tonight I have two appointments. So we stand at seven hours left to work and thirtyseven and a half to endure.
No sooner had I not planted the hedge when Gurney's sent me tomato plants. It was the worst timing, for usually I have Mondays off. I don't even have the garden ready for the tomatoes and we nearly had frost yesterday morning.
Wed 15 Apr 7:57
I went home early after having two clients last night. I hope to do the same tonight.
As I was driving this morning while listening to 1972, I realized that 1972 was the first time I went off course, then 1977, then 1982, and even 1987. These unfortunate incidents ended when I fell into my current empolyers. So, instead of digression, I stayed on the wrong path! As far as hitting the ground running, it looks as though I'll be crawling tomorrow.
Thu 16 Apr 14:39
Ah. it's over! The evening ended on a sour note, and I had trouble sleeping. I finally fell asleep at 11, only to awaken at 4 AM. I finally fell back asleep at 5 AM. Let the crawling begin!
I should stay at home all weekend just trying to get the act together. There is so much to do.
Sun 19 Apr 17:05
So much to do! I finally planted the hedge and the tomato plants. I chopped the roses of Sharon and clipped and bathed the dog.

Last night at Block was a bust, and I closed out late -- again. only two more weeks to go. I sent out a letter to Ray about my coming to State College the end of the month.
Thu 2 Apr 8:10
I almost had a recruitment to call clients for Block's second Second Look promotion this weekend, but my appointment showed up. I spent an hour and a half with them, and all I had left was to close with Gerrie.
The volume has definitely increased at Bodek, for I am still behind with work now the fourth day since I took off on Friday. Will the trend continue? The next day I take off is Good Friday, so it should not be so busy. Maybe the next Friday after next week I take off will be so good that I won't care when I come back.
Fri 3 Apr 15:00
The weather is miserable and warm today, more appropriate for next Friday. I'm due at Block once again Saturday night and all day Sunday for the last weekend fully for the season. Easter basically shifts to Good Friday next weekend.
The business book summary on Who needs Talent? makes sense in the sense of deliberate practice. In fact, my times at Penn State merely enforces that doctrine. Everything I do seems to be so mediocre and stultifying. So it's more than deciding what to do -- it's also about deliberate practice to excel in doing it.
I inevitably think of how Terry Fox used the same technique to excel in wheelchair basketball and in marathon running.
Sun 5 Apr 11:38
Last night was a bust. I spent much of the night placing appointments my coworkers missed over the past week for next year. (Note: 41 of 91 clients did not have appointments for next year.)
This morning I spent on You Tube with The Untouchables. I also finished the third lecture at Stanford on Chemical Engineering. Today is the final Sunday of the tax season. I was awake early enough this morning to run around the neighborhood. I needed the exercise.
In any case, today is the last long day at Block. I probably have five more long days during the week with the two jobs. The official count is eleven days until I leave tonight.
Mon 6 Apr 15:30
I began the day off the network. During the weekend about fifteen of us lost the connection. Yesterday at Block turned out busy. The dual new and Second Look was complicated enough for a ranking of 6. I spent about two hours with this guy, and once again I found errors in the previous return. Meanwhile the S's kept me busy earlier in the afternoon. Overall, it was the highlight of the season, for I received my first tip.
Tue 7 Apr 8:12
I awoke at 3 AM, and I had quite a time with the moonlight's shining in my face. Finally I bathed at 5 AM, easing the transition of jobs tonight. Nonetheless, I arrived rather late to work this morning. I figure only four long days left!
Wed 8 Apr 14:43
Last night was almost a bust. My scheduled-for-the-third-time appointment did not come. The other longterm stall didn't respond either. One may just whine over wooden stumps!
I had the only walkin client to break up my task of placing appointments missed during the interviews I have seven clietns left to conclude the week, which caused my to place thirtyeight appointments which my coworkers missed for next year.
With three long days and eight total left, I am at least near normal after over seven hours of sleep. I was falling asleep at my desk.
For the reunion, the numbers are sixteen coming and thirtyone are not. I still have no place to put the dog.
Thu 9 Apr 8:05
The schedule for this final week added two hours to Saturday and Monday night. My count stands at 77, so I have a good chance to get past 81 clients. I had one walk out because she insisted on filing head of household whjile havint $2200 in income for the year with two dependents! So, Friday will have to provide the 78th.
Meawhile, Johann Santana provided a win on Monday, 2-1. Last night K-Rod provided too much drama in saving Mik Pelfrey's 9-7 win. The bullpen still appears unstable.

This afternoon made the last such incident in October 1988 look tame in comparison. After over five years in one job, somwhow it has deteriorated below unsatisfactory. One of the large orders somehow naver made it to paid. Maybe someone is sabotaging me. I felt like Lucy Carter over two score ago. I don't see how I could have prevented it from happening, even as Lucy Carmichael.
Wed 25 Mar 20:46
Today was better, and quite busy. Tonight is boring and a complete waste. Someone called my former clients again, leaving me (ends) This morning I massed at 104, which means I gained no weight during winter. Last year at this time, I was touching 107. Hopefully I'll begin losing weight as I become more fit.

Sun 29 Mar Easter 1964 and 1970
My basket is fortyfive today. It's older than Russell Crowe! I also recall shoveling snow the evening of Easter 1970. We had eleven inches (now 28 cm) dumped on Mountain Top that night. The following day the sun melted nearly all the snow in one day.
I spent two hours ironing shirts on Friday in a metaphor of my current and persistent troubles. If I had hung the shirts up to dry, rather than place them in the dryer, they might not have wrinkled as badly. If I had been alert at work, the entire blowup on Tuesday would not have happened. From now onward, I will analyze as many mistakes as possible.
Lori revealed to my inquiry about places to stay. After I accepted the "evite", I never thought finding a place would be so difficult. Besides sleeping in the van, I have no other options. Lori certainly didn't offer lodging, telling me I should spend as much time as possible in State College. My next thought is lodging farther away, beyond Bellefonte.
I was called to come in Friday night, after I mentioned I was behind in my plans for the day, and that the business still slumped this weekend. I was scheduled for 5PM with a possibility of coming in at 10. Of course, it never happened because I'm more needed at night. Two of my clients returned last night. We have an appointment evach today, and I am opening the place for the first time ever. We will be short one preparer, although I doubt it'll be a problem.
Mon 30 Mar 8:00
For two and a half hours, I was idle to the point of copying the Passion while sitting at the front desk. We had no clients until 1 PM. Then I had three clients and finally a Second Look. He refused to amend the return.
The two Second looks delayed our leaving until nearly 7:30. Then I saw Lori sent me an email which mentioned hotels.com. Rather than even thinkg of staying in Northumberland, I booked a motel in Philipsburg, some halfhour drive from State College. The rates are very reasonable, similar to the Stevens Motel.
Tue 31 Mar 7:57
I awoke at 4:30, when the dog wanted to go out. Then I bathed with two more Tuesdays to avoid a bath in between jobs. It appears the next three Tuesdays and Wednesdays are booked.

Mon 9 Mar 15:05
I awoke at 2 AM after five hours of sleep and couldn't get back to sleep until after 4 AM. It was hard getting up in the dark at 6 AM, for sunrise is back to 7:20.
Despite the calendar, I was toying with the idea of sitting on the deck. It was not quite warm enough and misty. It was so cloudy that I couldn't read anyway, even though it was just past sunset. The clouds also obscured the dusk of the view of Saturn and the moon in the western sky.
21:55
I had occasion to remember what I was doing this time in 1977, when I was so naïf and innocent. I still thought I could maneuver myself into a career if I found the right major. Instead, I'd be changing majors for another seven years for naught.
While I was occupied with organic chemistry, Terrance Stanley Fox was losing his right leg in an amputation that would ring across Canada some three years later.
I rerecorded my first Red Dog Saloon off the original tape, still good some twentyeight years later. It is one of a rare amount of joys I still have in life.
Wed 11 Mar 14:23
Ah, this time in 1981, when it seemed much of my life was going right. I rerecorded the tape quite well, wlthough now I'd want the recording on disc. I need time this weekend to accomplish the initial preparations for hitting the ground running at the end of tax season, now five weeks away.

There is a small group tonight for my speech of maintenance. It was mediocre on You Tube.
Fri 13 Mar 16:22
My day off didn't produce much. I laundered and shopped for groceries, then I replaced the blown bulb of the right rear brakelight. I tried calling Liberty Resources. I also stopped at the Municipal Building to pick up the bill for the school taxes.
20:10
Dull describes the evening. I can't seem to do anything tonight. There is no more voicemail to check, and I don't have access to the telephone to call clients.
I mulled over the problem I had encountered yesterday when I was in PathMark. Obviously, I should go over a visual clue of a stop sign when a credit card fails so I do not let it go to that department.
Sat 14 Mar 9:30
I sent a belated birthday greeting to Philipp Rupf via email. Much of it repeats what I have already revealed.
Sun 15 Mar 11:15
I had a devil of a time trying to replace the bulb on the right rear breaklight. First, I replaced the wrong bulb, then I reversed the one bulb and replaced the wornout bulb. Then neither of the lights worked last night!
This morning I tried again by reversing the bulbs and nothing worked! So, I began turning the bulbs around and finally, I had them both on. What a botheration for a simple chnage of a lightbulb!
Mon 16 Mar 14:28
Only a month left of juggling two jobs! The head buyer tripped me up by entering two credit card orders on Friday without telling me. Therefore, I wasted time trying to reverse two of three entries. I will be aware of this possibility next time.
Tue 17 Mar 14:48
Nothing happened last night. I think I am eating too much at night, and it is keeping me awake. I put on "The Passion of the Christ", which I'd not seen. I didn't fall asleep until midnight. Perhaps my eating last keeps me awake rather than coffee. It's a waste I'd have little trouble cutting out. I'm busy until the end of the week at night.
Wed 18 Mar 7:55
Last night at Block was a bust. Here we sit with four weeks left. All I did was finish two friends and family, and I was stuck there closing out.
8:20
I had visions of abuse back in 1967 this morning with my playing songs from that year. The only valid reason I can conjure up that I became so used to verbal abuse in a cacestogenous home and bullies outside that I simply expected some abuse all the time, which led to my enemies and the like. On the other hand, it also toughened my sensibilities to such abuse, which blocking my sensibilities to others. In other words, my first task this late in life is to purge all such abuse out of my life.
Thu 19 Mar 14:48
I awoke in the middle of the night, and I could not sleep for two hours. I had a colorized dream of the knickknack of a blond guy, but I was not certain whether it'd been Matthew Shepard.
After the shocks of yesterday, I began to analyze my life in terms of not finishing what I started. I still think the academic stage was eighth grade. I returned to my exploratory world of a decade earlier. The link was made after many years of suppressing my intellect until I gradually came out of it in fifth grade out of necessity.
So what have I abandoned over the past two score? Maybe this revelation will be handy over the next year. I just must find the motivation to act toward the finish. How many others have the same problem to hold them back?
Last night I have one couple and the woman gave me a hard time. I also answered the question of a badgerer on the telephone. She obviouly wanted an excuse to say "too much". Too much of what? I needed an answer from Brian Tracy for that one.
Sun 22 Mar 14:12
After a quick start, business dropped off at Block. Yesterday was the first time ever I didn't work at Block on a Saturday.
15:43
Despite the extra time this weekend, I had difficulty in getting my agenda done. I guess I'll have to concentrate on my email. Easter is only a few weeks away, and so is the end of the season.
Mon 23 Mar 8:07
We had permission to close at 6 PM last night after no business from my return from break at 3:15. We were about to turn off the lights when someone showed up at the doors! Fortunately she refused to override everything and refused an appointment as well. I want to ask these people where they were all day and they made no appointment. We could have been too busy to take another client, especially since having the return done then was so critical. Otherwise, there must have been time to make an appointment later in the week.
